Short description: A bag, symbolic of the origins of Pleteno.
This bag is both simple and smart. Bedia chose the threads herself, cotton and wool from a local shop, testing how they worked together, how the colours blended, and how the body would hold its shape. She began with the base. Then she built the sides, using a skein to give flexibility. Finally, she sewed on the click-clack handle, giving the bag its defining design. "There’s a right shape for every bag," Bedia says, "and the colours must speak to each other."
Knitting is second nature to her. She learned it young, from her mother. But what Pleteno gave her was the chance to grow—technically, personally, and as part of a group. Now she helps coordinate everything, from design to delivery. The bag is light, strong, and personal. It speaks of someone who believes that learning never ends. "Μάθε τέχνη κι άστηνε", Bedia says, smiling, meaning that it is never a waste to learn new skills, whatever your age.
